The Structure of Power in Family and its Effect on Social Participation in Shiraz

In this study the structure of power in family and its effect on individual's social participation have been observed in the sample of overars old people of Shiraz with survey method. The frame work that used in this survey is a combined frame work. Thin theory used is Parsons social action theory and social participation is a social reaction. Individual's personality will be formed during alization. Because of Research Theory; human actions affect by thattitudes about something and also their subjective norms that are defined bythe reference group. And because of this reason, the structure of power in familysidered as a factor that affects the individual's attitude towardrticipation and also their presence at social activities. The results of thisrvey show that the pyramid of power in Shiraz families generally verticaThe range of participation in the families of Shiraz is generally low. There considerable difference (of social participation) between structureswer in family. The results of step-by-step regression show that tworiables (attitude to social participation and gender)are studied at equationand they make 7.2% of dependent variables. Based on the causal pathanalysis and with considering all direct and indirect effects of independentriables on social participation, the attitude towards participation variamost increasing effect and gender has lowest decreasing effect on socialicipation. The variable of structure of power in family affects increasingly onal participation. It means that when making decision is mzontally, social participation will be increased.
